A simple lace knitting stitch with a pattern that looks like triangular stacked columns. An easy lace knitting stitch to create set over 10 rows using yarn overs (yo) and simple decreases like k2tog (knit 2 together) that gives a right slanting decrease and ssk (slip, slip knit) that gives a left slanted decrease.

Triangular Columns Free Lace Knitting Stitch

This lace stitch makes a lovely v shaped openwork effect. A great lace stitch to use for tees and tanks, I knitted this up in Patons cotton 8 ply and it creates a nice lightweight cool fabric that is perfect for summer.

Abbreviations:

k= knit
p= purl
yo = yarn over
k2tog = knit 2 stitches together
ssk = slip, slip, knit slipped stitches tog. Creates a decrease.

Cast on Multiples of 14 + 1

Row 1: *p4, k2tog, k1, yo, k1, yo, k1, ssk, p3,* p1

Row 2: k1, *k3, p7, k4*

Row 3: *p3, k2tog, k1, yo, k3, yo, k1, ssk, p2,* p1

Row 4: k1, * k2, p9, k3*

Row 5: *p2, k2tog, k1, yo, k5, yo, k1, ssk, p1,* p1

Row 6: k1 *k1, p11, k2*

Row 7: *p1, k2tog, k1, yo, k7, yo, k1, ssk,* p1

Row 8: k1, *p13, k1*

Row 9: *p5, k5, p4,* p1

Row 10: k1, *k4, p5, k5*

The 10 rows above make up the pattern.
