Puff Dog Free Crochet Square Pattern.
Materials:
RH 4 ply Color A = Aran, Color B = Country Blue, Color C = Country Rose
Crochet Hook: Size F or size needed for gauge. Size G for edging.
Gauge: Each Square = 6″
Note:
Skill level: Advanced.
Blocking: Block lightly & briefly w/a warm damp pressing cloth on the reverse side of the square w/ med-hot iron.
Pattern Stitches
Popcorn Stitch (popcorn):
Join in second Color in next st, ch 3, holding back last st, 4 dc in same st. yo w/2nd color, draw through 5 loops, yo w/1st Color, draw thru 2 loops. Push popcorn to right side

w/ size F hook and color A ch 10.
Row 1:
sc in 2nd ch from hook and in 8 sc, ch 1, turn
Rows 2-4:
9 sc, ch 1, turn
Row 5:
Sc in 4 st, w/color A (popcorn w/ color C) FO color C, sc in 4 st w/color A, ch 1, turn
Row 6-8 :
sc across, w/color A, ch 1, turn
Row 9:
sc across. Do not turn. FO
Row 10:
With Rt. side facing, join in color C, working across 1 edge of square, 2 sc in 1st st, 7 sc, 2 sc in last st. ch 1, turn
Row 11:
sc 2 st together, work 7 sc, sc 2 st tog. Ch 1, turn
Row 12:
sc 2 st together, work 2 sc, (popcorn w/ color B) FO Color B, 2 sc, sc 2 st tog. Ch 1, turn
Row 13:
sc 2 st together, work 3 sc, sc 2 st tog. Ch 1, turn
Row 14:
sc 2 st together, 1 sc, sc 2 st tog. Ch 1, turn
Row 15:
sc 3 st together. FO
Repeat on each side of square Rows 10-15, working 1st st in same st as last st of previous triangle.
Right side: Round 1: Join color B in corner, work 1 sc. Sc 11 across one side, 3 sc in corner. Continue around. Working 2 sc in same st as first sc. Do not join, ch 1, turn
Wrong side: Row 2: Working over middle sc of 3 sc and last sc of 3 sc, sc 2 st tog, 11 sc, sc 2 st tog over first sc of 3 sc and middle sc. Ch 1, turn
Right side: Row 3: sc 2 st tog, 9 sc, sc 2 st tog, ch 1, turn
Wrong side: Row 4: sc 2 st tog, 7 sc, sc 2 st tog, ch 1, turn
Right side: Row 5: sc 2 st tog, sc 2, (popcorn w/ color A) FO Color A, sc 2, sc 2 st tog, ch 1, turn
Wrong side: Row 6: sc 2 st tog, 3 sc, sc 2 st tog, ch 1, turn
Right side: Row 7: sc 2 st tog, 1 sc, sc 2 st tog, ch 1, turn
Wrong side: Row 8: sc 3 st tog, do not turn. Pick up and crochet 7 sc along edge of triangle. Do not turn. Cont. working on next edge.
Wrong side: Row 9: Working over 1st and middle sc of 3 sc corner, sc 2 st tog, work 11 sc across, sc 2 st tog over middle and 3rd sc. Ch 1, turn
Repeat Rows 3 – 9 on each edge
Right side: Round 10: w/ color B, work 3sc in corners, 17 sc across each side. Cont. around, join w/ sl st. FO.
Round 11: With Size G and Color B work 20 sc evenly across each side, 3sc in corners. Join w/ sl st.
Finish off and weave in all ends.
