These little brown birds often get overlooked in the garden in favour of more colourful avian visitors but they are a pleasure to watch. Sparrows are very sociable and are often seen hopping around in a large group enjoying each other’s company (unlike starlings, who hang around in a large group and bicker like children in the back seat of a car on a long journey).
