The Rosette Stitch is an easy classic knitting stitch that creates a lovely firm fabric with a fancy texture. This is a great stitch for jackets, coats and any other warm fabric that calls for a denser stitch.

Here is a view of the back of the work for the Rosette Stitch, it is not a reversible knit stitch however the back of the work produces quite a nice texture too!

Materials I used: The yarn I used for this sample I bought online from an Australian company called Bendigo Woolen Mills, the shade is a self striping 2 toned rainbow called Bloom Rust. I used a size 5mm knitting needles.
Abbreviations:
k = knit
p = purl
p2tog = purl 2 stitches together
k2tog = knit 2 stitches together
Cast on an even number of stitches
Row 1 (Right side of work): knit across
Row 2: *p2tog, leave sts on left hand needle, then k2tog (return the working yarn to the knit position and then k2tog those same sts still on the needle) and slip from the needle together; rep from *
Row 3: knit across
Row 4: p1, *p2tog, leave sts on left hand needle, then k2tog (those same sts still on the needle) and slip from the needle together; rep from * to last stitch and p1
